Terms of Service
By accepting our terms of service below, you fully acknowledge and accept California Chef’s billing, service, and cancellation policies. Additional information can be found on our FAQ.
California Chef does not require any long-term commitment, but all meal plans are a continuing recurring service. Your service will continue uninterrupted unless or until we hear from you. We realize that changes to your schedule sometimes materialize unexpectedly, and we are eager to work with you when they do, but because of the planning, shopping, and preparation that go into your meals, we need 72 hours’ notice by phone or email to make any changes or cancellations to your deliveries. So, for Monday deliveries, you must notify us by 4:00 pm on the previous Friday; for Wednesday deliveries, by 4:00 pm Sunday; for Friday deliveries, by 4:00 pm Tuesday. Cancelations with less than 72-hours’ notice up until the day of delivery, are liable for 50% of the cost of the scheduled delivery. Same-day cancelations will be charged the full cost of the scheduled day’s delivery.
You will be billed for one week of your chosen meal plan within one day of your first delivery. You will be charged weekly in the same manner until there is a schedule change, or you discontinue service.
Your meals will be packed in insulated bags with ice packs. It is your responsibility to leave the bags and ice blocks out before your next delivery for your driver to pick up. If you do not return your bags, you will be reminded of our policy, and unreturned bags and ice packs will incur a fee of $5 each from that point forward.
Meals are delivered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, with your specific schedule determined by the plan you select. You should plan on starting with dinner on the first day of your delivery.
Although all of California Chef’s meals are cooked using healthy cooking methods and ingredients, they are not meant to replace your healthcare provider’s instructions. It is always best to consult your doctor before starting any new meal plan. If you have any dietary instructions from your healthcare provider, please let us know and we will incorporate them into your plan.
We do create custom meals for our clients and implement multi-check procedures in our efforts to ensure that specific ingredients are avoided for clients who are allergic to these ingredients or wish to avoid them for whatever reason. However, if your allergies are severe, we regrettably must decline the opportunity to cook for you as we cannot guarantee that our staff would be 100% accurate when preparing each and every meal. In addition, we do not have a completely segregated area or separate kitchen tools to use when making your meals to ensure that there is absolutely no risk of your meals being exposed to trace amounts of your allergen, since it is most likely used in our kitchen.
