I just had surgery on my elbow and knew I wouldn’t be able to cook for myself and that I’d need to count calories since I also wouldn’t be active. A friend referred me to California Chef and the food was simple but good.

I spent the first week calling them to confirm that I was really at 1,200 calories a day. The volume of food was tremendous. The meals were flavorful and the variety was better than I provide for my own family. I lost four pounds in three weeks and never felt hungry. It’s not inexpensive but it’s good fresh food and if you need to not think about your own meals it’s a lifesaver.
